We came across Bull In A China Shop by Stephanie Quayle at the Trolley Gallery. I didn't expect to see a massive full size Indian bull elephant when I walked in but there it was...all 3 tonnes of clay of it. If you're in the area definitely go see before they break it down.
So on seeing the Cadbury's Twist ads you'd think I'd be in heaven....
WRONG! I seriously have a love/hate relationship with this ad and the ad's star, who I'm going to call GOO - because that's the throat gargling, chocolate curdling battle cry-esque sound it makes in the ad. Basically GOO in this particular ad is created by a hairdryer melting a Creme Egg. The Creme Egg melts to GOO and comes back to life as a Twisted Bar. Pretty innocent right? Ummmm that's until it ejaculates...
"Four theologians with help from academics at the University of the West Indies are working on translating the New Testament into Patois by 2012 which would coincide with the 50th Anniversary of Jamaica's independence."
I’m British born and bred but haven’t been back to the UK since January (not terribly long but still…) For the next 2 weeks I’ll be big.blag.blogging from London and good ol’ Manchester. Stay tuned for Election Night Live from England w/ Jenna G and Nika D, Wedding Day shenanigans a blow by blow “Which [...]
I was browsing my hometown paper (The Manchester Evening News) last night and came across this brilliant website for the Manchester Comedy Festival. The website itself is well designed but the beauty lies in the photography…true Sunny Faced Mancunian Citizens…ha! It’s running from the 16th October — 26th October so I’ll definitely check out one [...]
There's amazing work from notable street artists including; Jonathan Yeo, Faile, VHILS, Zevs, David Choe, Todd James, the fabulous Polly Morgan, Ian Francis and the Invader, if you're in New York City and in the proximity of the fast becoming Yuppy Skid Row...
Ok so all of the politics and economic meltdown talk whilst very very real is somewhat depressing.
I came across an old Toshiba ad today which took me waaaaay back.
Being a self confessed and life long telly addict, when I was about 10 years old I had a video tape (VHS) of all my favorite ads (gah! I wish I still had that). I found a few on youtube, if ONLY i could get these on DVD!
Seriously amazing idea and no doubt if I wasn't so plugged into the elections I would have absolutely LOVED. I thought the Witness Protection and The Me, You and the Other guy treatments were brilliant (see video). BUT during certain sections (The Face Remix part) I became really frustrated with the graphic treatment and the audio. I wanted to see Obama's sprightliness and McCain's Cronyiness (...what are these Cronyisms you speak of John?) and less video graphics. All in all the night was really good.
I've stayed largely silent (on the blog) re: the upcoming US Elections. However with the deadline to register to vote coming up on OCTOBER 6TH 2008 (day before LANDING GEAR RELEASE), the media frenzy on Sarah "Planet Alaska" Palin and my general belief that middle America is a completely different country compared to the East and West coasts.
