Secret Wars NYC + Warriors

The almighty Secret Wars arrived in NYC last week on a much anticipated whirlwind 10 day tour. I’ve been DYING to attend Secret Wars for the longest (drawn to my attention by the boys at BNTL), so on Wednesday, confid3ntial and I trekked out to the Public Assembly in Billyburg where the USA vs ENGLAND event was taking place.

Two teams, one 15ft by 24ft canvas, a shit load of black markers, black paint, booze n tunes equals SERIOUS good times. I can barely draw a stick man, so to see the England + US teams go at it for 90 minutes was brilliant. The winners were being judged on crowd noise so I obviously screamed myself hoarse and got a killer migraine in the process, but it was worth it…England won!

I was so inspired by the event, the artwork and the concept – a take on the infamous Warriors PLUS the fact that my Dad is a MASSIVE cricket fan, that I put in a bid for the England side Battle Wall. You only live once right? Lord knows where the F I’m gonna put it, but just looking at the pictures of the event make me so happy – so gawd knows what the energy from the artwork’s going to do.
Amazing event – if it’s coming to your city – DON’T miss it…you’ll be sorry if you do.
